svn on Mac – now, there is a solution that works with umlauts: smartsvn
good news for those suffering with svn on the Mac. There is a new version of SmartSvn available on http://www.syntevo.com/smartsvn.
But now: it is the first SVN-Client being able to handle umlaut characters in filenames. It worked even with a sandbox created with the command line client delivered with Leopard. You can simply import an existing sandbox with „Create from Directory“. The user interface is pretty intuitive – no, it is not really Mac like, but if you come from TortoiseSvn it is easy to use. And there is a simple way to open the sandbox in the finder: simply hit return on a directory, or use „context menu/open“.
As nothing is perfect there are some desires:
- Would like to open multiple projects in the same window
- Would like to use the finder context menu from with SmartSvn
